Tiny Rebel Brewing Co is an award-winning Newport brewery that has long sold it's beer and merchandise online. Until recently, they had used third party organisations to hold stock and process orders but after moving to a larger brewery they had the capacity to process orders themselves in-house. They approached us to discuss the best options available.
Separate or Integrate?
The Tiny Rebel online shop had always been separate to the main Tiny Rebel website and was originally built with WooCommerce from WordPress. It later moved to Magento when a new organisation was selected to process the orders.
The site could continue as a separate entity either staying with Magento or returning to WooCommerce, but maintaining two websites is not an ideal solution and would be easier for content editors to maintain a single website.
There are eCommerce options for Umbraco – Tea Commerce and uCommerce (which we have experience with both) – but without a need for many of the features those offer and only a small catalogue of products Snipcart was selected.
Snipcart is designed to seamlessly integrate into any website or CMS including Umbraco. It handles the shopping journey from adding products to shopping basket through to payment.
By default Snipcart stores all product information and manages inventory but support for webhooks we able to incorporate the products into the Umbraco node structure and then inform Snipcart of new products and stock levels. This seamless integration into Snipcart reduces the need for content editors to complete tasks in both Umbraco and Snipcart when creating products.
Is Snipcart for you?
Snipcart is perfect if you need to drop-in eCommerce functionality into a website. It offers inventory tracking, discounts, shipping and can link with external CRMs and email software. For more information about how we can help you integrate Snipcart into your website, drop us an email.
