Project Background

We have worked with Prodec Networks since 2016 when they approached us to redevelop their existing Umbraco website. Besides the website not clearly identifying Prodec's offering, they felt they were being hindered by how Umbraco had been implemented. They were frustrated by the lack of control over the content on each page, the inability to easily share similar content across multiple pages and being unable to implement particular features and objectives.

With developments in Umbraco and Grid since initial launch and a need for even more control over content and the structure of the website, we embarked on a complete rebuild less than 18 months after initial launch. The end result was an enterprise-class website offering complete control over the content of the website.

Design Thinking

Being a company that deals with large organisations, the website is required to convey the high standards that Prodec prides itself on. The design needed to reassure potential customers that Prodec is an established, experienced and professional organisation.

In addition, working in a competitive landscape, branding was important to reinforce the identity of Prodec and give clear separation between itself and its competitors.

Fully Flexible

Prodec Networks offers a large range of technology solutions and managed services with many complementing each other. Users that may be interested in a particular solution could well benefit from a range of other related solutions.

Extensive research was undertaken to fully understand exactly the type of content that Prodec was going to include on the website and a series of modules were produced. By fully understanding how Prodec was going to enter their content, and importantly, how they were going to sell their services, we were able to craft the modules to make them flexible and accommodate a wide range of content such as text, images and documents.

We ensured that each module was constructed in such a way that they could be placed in any order and Prodec would have the piece of mind that they would slot together without any unnecessary spacing – they'd just work.

The power and flexibility of Umbraco Grid allows the content editors at Prodec to intuitively construct pages, draw resources from elsewhere on the site and link to external services such as HubSpot.

Hubspot Integration

Prodec Networks utilises Hubspot to track user engagement on their website using contact forms, button clicks and calls-to-action (CTA).

Previously, Prodec would only use CTA banners to guide users to HubSpot pages but discovered that they needed more control so in addition to the traditional banners, we also allowed HubSpot resources to be linked from practically anywhere on the website.

The process of integrating HubSpot into the website simply involved pasting the code provided by HubSpot, and we'd handle the rest.

GfK Etilize Integration

GfK Etilize provides complete, accurate and standardised product content that is optimised for search.

With millions of products to filter, we provided an interface within Umbraco to allow Prodec to choose products, categorise them and add custom pricing. The data can then be set to update periodically to ensure the catalogue is fresh.

The products seamlessly integrated into the existing admin site structure and existing content could easily be added into the new product pages to make them more content-rich.

This web project was by far our most ambitious to date. Having worked with Ozum on other projects in the past, I had no doubt that they were the right team for the job. Prodec's new website allows them to be in complete control of all content with full flexibility to easily link and share content across different pages. Through careful planning, the CMS is both easy to understand and intuitive and only minimal training is required to get started.

By easily integrating with Hubspot, they can continue to track how users are interacting with the website and without any interaction from Ozum can create fully trackable landing pages for specific marketing campaigns.
